Celebrating their third consecutive Premier League win over Leicester City on Thursday evening at King Power Stadium, Leicester, it appears Manchester United’s first-team coach Benedict Saul "Benni" McCarthy is earning every penny of his new eye-watering salary…
Following the news of his appointment at the end of July, the 44-year-old coach told Manchester Evening News he has been a Red Devils fan since he was a youngster playing soccer in the streets of Cape Town’s crime-ridden Hanover Park.
SA Rich and Famous has now revealed the soccer star’s new salary. McCarthy reportedly earns a staggering £40 000 (about R802 000) a week for coaching the Red Devils’ first team. He coaches attacking play and positioning.
This translates into around R3.2 million a month, which is more than five times the salary McCarthy earned during his stint as AmaZulu FC head coach. According to Answers Africa, he used to earn an estimated R600 000 a month at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
Known for his love of cars, fans can only imagine what new rides the soccer legend may now be eyeing!
