South African media personality Sabelo “Ntombeningi” Sithole finds himself embroiled in a controversy involving musician Muzi “Mziwa” Gazide and his wife, Mbali Ngubane.
Allegations of infidelity have surfaced, supported by photographic evidence and incriminating WhatsApp messages, revealing a clandestine relationship between Sithole and Gazide. The situation is further complicated by Ngubane's seven-week pregnancy.
A source close to the situation provided details to Sunday World, painting a picture of a complex and damaging situation: “They got married two years ago, and Mbali is seven weeks pregnant. They do not have kids,” the source revealed.
The source further alleged that Gazide had concealed his sexuality from his wife and family: “What’s more painful is that he did not tell his wife that he’s gay. In front of his wife, he acts straight, but behind closed doors, he is Ntombeningi’s boyfriend. It’s worrying because Mziwa’s marriage is already showing some cracks. He spends hours on the phone with Ntombeningi, and he always finds excuses to spend time with Ntombeningi.”
The WhatsApp messages exchanged between Sithole and Gazide leave little room for doubt. In one exchange, Gazide wrote: “I miss you; when will I see you?” Sithole responded: “When do you want to see me? When is she leaving?”
Gazide’s reply is revealing: “I’m pushing her to leave by the weekend. I hope you’ll be free so I can be all yours.”
Another message from Sithole reads: “Baby wami [my love], how’s your day? I’m so sorry for the late response. I was busy. Are you okay though?” Gazide’s response: “I’m not ok; I miss you.”
Initially, Sithole denied the affair when confronted. However, presented with the evidence, he admitted to the relationship, offering a somewhat different perspective: “I’ll just be honest with you; I’ve been dating Mziwa since February this year. It started as an honest friendship, but this year he asked me out,” Sithole stated.
He further claimed that Gazide had revealed his homosexuality, but kept it secret from his wife and family out of fear of rejection: “He told me he’s always been gay, but his wife and family have no idea. He couldn’t tell them because they might disown him.”
Sithole described their relationship as a “little secret,” given that both men are married.
“It wasn’t supposed to come out like this because we’re both married. However, I always encouraged him to come clean for the sake of his wife and family,” he added.
Gazide, when initially contacted, vehemently denied the affair: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not dating Ntombeningi; he’s just my friend.”
However, when confronted with the evidence, he admitted to the relationship, expressing regret and concern about the potential fallout.
“I don’t want our families and my wife to know about this. It was a mistake; it wasn’t serious. I’ve been doing business with her since February, and I got tempted. I also don’t want bad publicity,” he said.
Ngubane, Gazide’s wife, was understandably devastated when informed of the situation: “I’m utterly shocked, and I wasn’t aware of this,” she sobbed before ending the call.
The revelation of the affair, coupled with Ngubane's pregnancy, has created a deeply distressing situation for all involved.
