Dhlomo made these comments during a recent appearance on L-Tido’s podcast, where he discussed a range of topics, including his own extensive media archives and a past social media feud.
Dhlomo's prediction regarding Nkayi's case against Kaya 959 stemmed from his personal experience and meticulous record-keeping.
He stated: “She is going through her [Unathi] case; it has got nothing to do with me, all the best. She is likely going to lose it though; I have all the evidence on everything. Every show I have ever done, I have the recordings. Every day when I do a show, I get sent a copy of it and save it in the archives. This is just so that if anyone comes up with something.” This suggests that Dhlomo possesses substantial documentation that could potentially be relevant to the case.
Nkayi's legal action against Kaya 959, initially an arbitration process, has escalated to the high court. The case centres around her alleged wrongful termination of contract. The station confirmed in 2021 that Nkayi’s contract had been terminated with immediate effect, following a reported verbal altercation between her and Dhlomo.
At the time, Nkayi expressed confidence in her financial resources and the support she had received, saying: “I have some very powerful and wealthy people who have backed me up to say they are not going to allow me to not see this through. So, finances are not going to be my issue.”
Beyond the Nkayi case, Dhlomo also addressed his past public disagreements with Vusi Thembekwayo, clarifying the nature of their online exchanges. He described the situation as less of a continuous back-and-forth and more of a temporary cessation of hostilities, contingent on Thembekwayo's future actions.
Dhlomo explained: “It is not back and forth; he has not responded in a long time; I do not know if he is ducking the smoke. What I can tell you is that I promised someone I respect that I was going to lay off the homie. If he somehow just breathes wrong, then the beef is not squashed, but for now it is squashed.” This suggests a fragile truce, potentially subject to future escalation.
The podcast appearance provides a glimpse into Dhlomo's perspective on both his past professional relationship with Nkayi and his ongoing public interactions with Thembekwayo. His confident prediction regarding Nkayi's legal case, coupled with his admission of possessing substantial archival material, raises questions about the strength of the evidence and the potential outcome of the court proceedings.
