You're preying on young men: Polygamous and pansexual Somizi sparks dating rumours with Mich Mazibuko as video goes viral (WATCH)

Johannesburg – Media personality Somizi Mhlongo is once again embroiled in controversy, this time following the viral spread of a video showing him in close proximity to Big Brother Mzansi season 4 contestant, Mich Mazibuko.

The video, depicting the pair enjoying champagne and what appears to be a kiss, has ignited a firestorm of debate on social media, sparking romance rumours and accusations of predatory behaviour.

The video, which quickly circulated online, shows Somizi and Mich sharing an intimate moment, leading many to speculate about the nature of their relationship. While neither party has publicly commented on the rumours, the footage has fuelled intense discussion, with some accusing Somizi, 52, of "preying" on younger men, given Mich's age of 24.

This is not the first time Somizi’s relationships have drawn public scrutiny. His highly publicised marriage to Mohale Motaung ended acrimoniously amidst allegations of abuse. However, Somizi has since openly discussed his evolving views on relationships and sexuality.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE a few weeks prior to the video’s release, Somizi revealed his festive plans and offered insights into his current romantic life: “There will be four couples, so it's eight of us. Just because I want to spend Christmas alone doesn’t mean I’m single,” he said.

He further elaborated on his approach to relationships: “I haven't found love again. I am just mingling to mingle. I'm just having fun. There's no love. I am in relationships. With age, you realise certain things, you discover yourself. I've realised I am possibly 80% to 90% polygamous and I am pansexual. So I'm exploring. I am just living my life. I am not committed to anyone, I don't want anyone to commit to me. I've reached a stage in my life where I believe no-one should own anyone, no-one should control anyone. People must do what they want to do, as long as it's in agreement with the partnership.”

He also addressed the possibility of future marriage: “Marriage is on the cards, I'll definitely get married. I love the concept of marriage. To be honest, I'm more in love with the wedding than the marriage, but I understand the marriage part.”

He clarified his ideal relationship dynamic: “It would be an honest relationship, not an open one. Open to me means you can date whoever you want to date whenever you want. An honest relationship means we have a conversation before anything happens and we have to be in agreement. An honest relationship will be sometimes I wake not feeling the same way I felt yesterday about you and I must be open and honest with it.”

However, the cosy video with Mich has reignited the debate surrounding Somizi’s relationships, with many social media users expressing strong opinions. Criticism ranged from accusations of predatory behaviour to concerns about the significant age gap between the two individuals.

Conversely, other users defended Somizi, suggesting that Mich and other young men who have been linked to him are aware of his lifestyle and may be using him for personal gain.
