Tunzi, known for fiercely guarding her private life, managed to keep her nuptials under wraps until she personally announced the news on Sunday afternoon.
The beauty queen, who captured the hearts of the nation and the world with her grace and intelligence, exchanged vows with her now-husband on Saturday, 22 March 2025, at the picturesque Belair Pavilion in the Cape Winelands.

Soka is spot on as not a single post, image nor rumour had emerged on social media before the longest reigning Miss Universe made the announcement herself.
Among the guests was veteran actress and Igazi and The Queen producer Connie Ferguson. While it is unclear how many guests witnessed the union between Tunzi and her bae, the images suggest that it was an intimate ceremony attended by just a chosen few.
It is believed that Nomzamo Mbatha, Connie Ferguson and soccer player Siphiwe Tshabalala are some of the famous faces believed to have witnessed the beauty queen saying her "I dos".
Tunzi looked stunning in a designer wedding dress made by Phan Huy, a renowned fashion designer from Vietnam.
Content creator Lasizwe Dambuza jokingly commented, "??? Am I still going to be able to take you on a date? Or Is it going to be awkward now?"
Miss Supranational 2022 and Miss South Africa 2021 Lalela Mswane exclaimed, "OMG!!!!! A TOTAL VISION!!! "
Radio and TV broadcaster Mdoda said: "The most beautiful day wow you were a gorgeous bride and an even better couple
"
The matrimonial allegedly took place at a “secret location,” at the Belair Pavilion in Cape Town, a popular wedding venue almost as beautiful as the happy bride.
“I love you endlessly, husband,” reads Tunzi’s post on Facebook. The matrimonial allegedly took place at a “secret location,” at the Belair Pavilion in Cape Town, a popular wedding venue almost as beautiful as the happy bride.
Social media posts suggested that wedding guests weren't permitted to post about the couple's big day but now that Tunzi is they are slowly letting their fans in.
Tunzi has always kept her private life to herself, but she has allowed her fans to share in this significant moment.
Not much is known about the bearded lucky gentleman who snatched her either as she has always sheltered her relationship from prying eyes.
Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi goes down in history as one of the public figures whose private lives are exactly that: private. According to a post by the beauty queen captioned 22/03/2025 followed by a heart and ring emoji, Tunzi was officially taken off the market yesterday.
One can only speculate if guests were made to sign a non-disclosure agreement but hopefully it is the simple fact that Tunzi’s close circle is a loyal clan that respects her privacy.
The newlywed broke the record for being the longest-reigning Miss Universe in 2021. She held the Miss Universe title for 525 days following the postponement of the 69th edition of the pageant due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Before Tunzi, Angolan beauty Laila Lopes held the title for the longest time after her 2011 crowning.
With her weekend nuptials, Tunzi followed in the footsteps of Miss South Africa 2023 Natasha Joubert, who also wedded her high school sweetheart, Enrico Vermaak, earlier this month.
Secret admirers who were still waiting for the proverbial perfect moment to shoot their shot are probably “breathing through the wound” as the long weekend wraps.
