Musa Mseleku, the renowned polygamist and businessman from KwaZulu-Natal, has taken the South African entertainment scene by storm with a surprising career move.
Known for his role in the popular reality TV show Mnakwethu, Mseleku has now ventured into the world of acting, making a guest appearance on Mzansi Magic's My Brother's Keeper on Friday, 30 August.
Mseleku's appearance on the show was met with surprise and intrigue from viewers, who are accustomed to seeing him navigate the complex dynamics of polygamy in his own reality show.
However, Mseleku has made it clear that his foray into acting is not a spontaneous decision, but rather a carefully considered step, with one crucial condition.
"I’ve told all productions that if they honour the Mseleku name, I’ll consider participating. But if they want to give me a different name, it becomes very difficult. In this particular production, they respected my name, which is why I agreed to do it," Mseleku stated.
Mseleku's commitment to his personal brand is evident in his approach to acting. He is not simply seeking to expand his career horizons, but rather to ensure that his participation in any production aligns with the values and reputation he has carefully cultivated over the years.
When questioned about his acting skills and whether he would consider taking acting classes to refine his craft, Mseleku expressed confidence in his natural abilities, drawing a connection to his reality TV experience.
"I think it comes naturally because the appearance was connected to my reality show, Mnakwethu, which I do every day. The only difference is that the lines were written down, but I told them I’d give them more than what they asked for," he explained.
Despite his busy schedule, Mseleku maintains a strong sense of balance, ensuring that his various responsibilities are managed effectively.
"I sit on three governing bodies because I ensure that wherever my children are, I’m also present. My businesses function whether I’m there or not. I don’t limit anything to revolve around me. I also allow my wives to take on roles if I know they’ll do it perfectly because I don’t want anything to stand still when I’m not around," he said.
