The drama on Skeem Saam continues to unfold, with Toby, played by Sicelo Buthelezi, taking centre stage. After his mother, Evelyn, sold their family home for R480 000, Toby couldn't handle the reality of their new living situation – a backroom. He stole some cash from Evelyn's bag and fled, leaving his mother to deal with the fallout.

Evelyn's desperation to secure Toby's legal fees, as he faces a rape charge, led her to sell the house. She had initially hoped for R600 000, but the desperate circumstances forced her to accept a lower offer. The buyer, Bra Boikie, is a familiar face in the Skeem Saam universe. He's the same man Ma'Ntuli secretly sold her old house to, and his reputation precedes him. Known for his corrupt dealings, Bra Boikie made Kwaito and T-Bose pay for a municipal tender. He's now using the money from these shady deals to build his empire.

Evelyn was tempted by Bra Boikie's offer to make Toby's case disappear, but she declined, opting for a more expensive lawyer. She's now paying R5 000 per hour for consultations, raising questions about whether a cheaper lawyer might have been a better option.

Meanwhile, Kwaito and Lizzy are navigating their own challenges. After much convincing, Lizzy finally agreed to start trying for a baby. She's been on birth control for years, focusing on her career as a doctor. However, Kwaito's delusional mother, Ma'Ntuli, has already started spreading the news of a potential pregnancy, putting unnecessary pressure on the couple. They're still in the early stages of trying to conceive, and Ma'Ntuli's meddling is causing tension.

Over on Smoke & Mirrors, the drama continues to unfold. Nomeva, who had gone missing after being turned into a zombie by the evil witch, Ngcuku, has been found alive but unwell. She was discovered wandering the streets, lost and confused. This follows the tragic death of Sindi, who was sacrificed by Jaxon, Caesar, and the late Mthetho as part of a deal with Ngcuku.

The rumour mill churned, falsely pinning Sindi's death on Nomeva, but the truth is far more sinister. Nomeva had a vision about Sindi's death and was close to stopping the ritual but arrived too late. Ngcuku, Jaxon, and Caesar turned Nomeva into a zombie to silence her, fearing she would expose their actions. Now, they want her dead, fearing she might recover and reveal their dark secret.

Ngcuku is using Nomeva as a pawn, manipulating her to do his bidding. Nomeva's family is desperate to help her, clinging to the hope that she can recover. Time is of the essence; they need to act quickly before Ngcuku silences her for good.

Love is in the air for Mandla and his sister-in-law, Philile, who is still mourning the loss of her husband. She has shed her mourning clothes and is now engaged to her late husband's brother. Their families may disapprove, but they seem happy, proving that love can indeed conquer all.
