GEORGE – Two men have been arrested in connection with the brazen murder of Cape Town underworld figure and businessman Mark Lifman, who was shot dead outside the Garden Route Mall in George on Sunday morning. Western Cape police confirmed on Monday afternoon that the suspects, aged 37 and 53, were apprehended near Uniondale following a swift police operation.
Lifman, 57, was reportedly ambushed by gunmen wielding assault rifles while unaccompanied by his usual bodyguards. This detail has raised eyebrows amongst those familiar with his security protocols, adding another layer of intrigue to the already complex circumstances surrounding his death.
