In the disturbing video, Sibusiso is seen with blood smeared across his face, candidly explaining the circumstances that led to the murder. “You will say I’m ruthless. I tried, I worked hard in my life trying to satisfy the woman, trying to make her happy. I lost many things, a lot of money, a lot of everything,” he said, his tone a mix of despair and anger.
He went on to detail the tumultuous nature of their relationship, revealing that his girlfriend had left him for another man. “She got tired of me and dumped me because she was going to get RAF money, and I accepted that she dumped me. After that we both had other partners, and she came back to me again and took a video of us and sent it to my girlfriend. My girlfriend has dumped me, and she also dumped me,” he recounted, seemingly justifying his actions.
The police were alerted to a grim scene later that night. Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a spokesman for the KZN police, described the discovery of the young woman's body. “We responded to an incident at a gravel road in the Malangeni area in Umzinto on Tuesday night, where the body of a 25-year-old woman was found lying in the middle of the road. Her bloodied body was found with several stab wounds, and a broken knife was discovered next to her,” he stated.
Authorities suspect that Sibusiso had fetched his girlfriend from her home, and a domestic altercation escalated into violence. Evidence suggests that the murder took place in his vehicle, as blood was found on the front passenger seat of the abandoned car, located a short distance from where her body was found.
As the investigation unfolded, a manhunt for Sibusiso was initiated. Tragically, he was later discovered hanging from a tree in the Malangeni area, not far from the site of the murder. The police now face the task of piecing together the events leading up to this horrific crime.
