Real Housewives of Durban star Nonkanyiso "LaConco" Conco, recently took to Instagram to share her regrets about receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. LaConco expressed that she was experiencing adverse effects from the vaccine.
In her Instagram post, she wrote, "This is why I regret taking the Covid vaccine. Been having fever so bad that it feels like Covid-19. It has gone worse now from once a month to two or three times in a month. I'm tired of the medication, steaming, and nebulizing. This can't be my norm. My heart is heavy as this has affected my lungs and I can't gym as I want." She continued, "Whatever is happening to my body, ayi shame ngiyaxolisa my God is on the throne. I have a very long life to live. People still need to see God's existence through me and I still need to shake my b… wearing a thong in Kuwait. So abeg!"
LaConco's statement reflects her personal experience and concerns about the side effects she believes are associated with the vaccine. However, it's important to note that side effects from the Covid-19 vaccine are generally mild and temporary, according to medical professionals.
Dr. Anastacia Tomson explained that common side effects of the vaccine typically manifest within eight to 24 hours after the injection. These side effects may include fever, lightheadedness, chills, muscle aches and pains, headaches, or nausea. Dr. Tomson reassured that these symptoms usually respond well to over-the-counter pain relievers like paracetamol and typically subside within a day or two.
However, Dr. Tomson cautioned that if individuals experience symptoms such as a dry cough, loss of smell or taste, a sore throat, or symptoms that persist beyond a day or two, these may not be directly related to the vaccine. In such cases, seeking medical attention, including a Covid-19 test, is recommended to determine the underlying cause of the symptoms.
LaConco's public expression of regret sheds light on the individual experiences and concerns surrounding Covid-19 vaccinations. While adverse effects can occur, it's crucial to remember that the overwhelming majority of individuals who receive the vaccine experience only mild and temporary side effects, if any at all. The benefits of vaccination in preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and the spread of the virus cannot be overlooked.
As the global vaccination effort continues, it is essential to stay informed about the potential side effects and consult with healthcare professionals for personalized guidance and support. Transparency and open dialogue contribute to a better understanding of the vaccination process and help individuals make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.
