Litchi Hov: The Choreographer Behind Tyla's Sensational Moves
Litchi Hov, also known as Lee-ché Janecke, is the talented choreographer responsible for the sultry and captivating moves seen in Tyla's hit song "Water," which has propelled her to international stardom. Tyla recently showcased her skills on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, leaving viewers craving more.
Tyla credited Litchi Hov for bringing her vision to life. And with hit after hit under his belt, he continues showcasing South Africa's dancing talent on a global stage.
Litchi's choreography has also graced some of South Africa's biggest film and television awards, as well as performances by renowned artists such as the late Lebo Mathosa, Boom Shaka, Mafikizolo, Sho Madjozi, and Uncle Waffles.
Litchi was Born in Cape Town, and was exposed to the world of dance from a young age. His mother was a ballerina, and his father was a break-dancer. Growing up, Litchi developed a passion for dance and began honing his skills. As a self-taught dancer, he drew inspiration from international videos and admired artists like Aaliyah, TLC, Madonna, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and Destiny's Child. Litchi's love for entertainment and modeling also shone through, making him a versatile performer in his community.
Litchi Hov made a significant impact on the dance scene when he founded the dance group Vintage Dance Cru. They were among the first dance crews in South Africa to introduce voguing as a dance genre. Despite receiving two bursaries to study BCom Accounting at universities in New York City after completing high school, Litchi decided to follow his true passion for dance, realizing that it outweighed his love for accounting.
