Actor Siyabonga Shibe Reportedly Cuts Ties with Family Amidst Paternity Claims and Financial Struggles
Siyabonga Shibe, known for his role in the series "Sibongile & The Dlaminis," has allegedly severed all ties with his family, leaving them feeling abandoned and blacklisted. According to sources, the rift began when a woman claimed to be his long-lost daughter, following a similar claim she made regarding the late Sfiso Ncwane.
Shibe's brother spoke to ZiMoja, expressing their confusion and disappointment at the actor's behavior. He revealed that Siyabonga no longer provides financial support for their mother, stating, "We can't comprehend how Siyabonga has reached this point. He has stopped buying groceries for our mother and even told her that he wants nothing to do with her. We tried to warn him about the alleged daughter, but he chose to cut us off." The brother further claimed that Siyabonga went to great lengths to demonstrate his love for his supposed daughter, selling his two cars and a house in Ridgeway, Johannesburg.
"We don't know this daughter. She initially claimed to be Sfiso Ncwane's child and now she is asserting her connection to Siya. We have no knowledge of her and do not wish to be involved in her life as she seems to be taking our brother away from us," added the brother. Allegedly, Siyabonga insulted their mother, even stating that she would not be welcome at his funeral if he were to pass away. The actor has reportedly ceased visiting his family's home and blocked their contact on all his phone numbers. Moreover, he has apparently downgraded his phone to a non-smartphone while his alleged daughter possesses an iPhone 14. Concerns have also been raised among Siyabonga's colleagues, as he frequently asks for small amounts of money, as little as R10, to purchase cigarettes.
Efforts to obtain a comment from Siyabonga Shibe have been unsuccessful thus far.
