It has been less than a month since the tragic passing of singer and songwriter Bulelwa 'Zahara' Mkutukana, yet her sisters Bandezwa and Lumka have already moved into her home in Lille Falls, Roodepoort, and rummaged through her wardrobes and belongings.
During Zahara's battle for her life, her sisters were accused of using her bank account and indulging in shopping sprees at Small Street in Johannesburg. To protect against their excessive spending, Zahara's bank card has been blocked. A close friend reveals that the sisters had been attempting to obtain the card's PIN, which none of them possessed. After multiple failed attempts, the card was eventually blocked. The friend further discloses that the sisters have been engaging in reprehensible behavior. Even when Zahara was alive, she would assert that they would never have her life. They harbored jealousy towards her success and aspired to achieve the same level of recognition, but their efforts fell short.
"Those two have been doing the unthinkable. Even when she was alive, Bulelwa would tell them they would never have her life. They have always been jealous of her success and wanted to reach her level, but they couldn't."
The insider revealed that the sisters have invaded Zahara's wardrobe and shamelessly worn her precious performance dresses. According to cultural customs, there should have been a ceremony where the clothes were freely distributed to family and friends after her passing, but this has not taken place. Instead, the sisters have already begun wearing Zahara's clothes and parading around in them. The friend expresses that Zahara would be furious wherever she is. He shares, "Bandezwa wore a white dress that Zahara had worn in her final show before she died.
It's truly heartbreaking. The lies they have been spreading about her fiance, Mpho, are beyond comprehension." When contacted for a comment on the matter, Zahara's sister Bandezwa responded, "We were just trying them on. What is wrong with that? She is not here anymore."
